Onboarding

What happens during Onboarding?

 

 During Onboarding, your child will:

  • Go through iPad setup with Filewave, which involves erasing all data on the device and installing a profile that allows Cathedral to manage the iPad. 
  • Receive accounts that gives them access to many of the resources they will need during the school year. The accounts your child will be set up with during Onboarding include:
Network Account: Google Account:

The Cathedral network account gives students access to:     

Your student's Google account gives them access to:

  • Cathedral email
  • Google Drive (cloud storage)
  • Youtube channel
  • Schoology

Their Google account needs to be set-up prior to Onboarding. Detailed instructions for set-up will be emailed to you in the month of May.

Who should participate on Onboarding? 

New students (including transfer students) and freshman for the 2019-2020 school year are required to participate in Onboarding. 

*** All students that ordered iPads through Cathedral will pickup their iPad on their scheduled Onboarding day

Onboarding - Students taking Summer School:

Summer school students do not need to register for Onboarding. Session for summer school students will take place on these days:

  • Health: Tuesday, June 4th - morning & afternoon classes - Room 4103
  • Spanish: Tuesday, June 4th - Room 4103  
  • PE: Wednesday, June 5th - morning & afternoon classes- Room 4105
  • Bridges: Tuesday, June 4th - morning & afternoon classes - Room 4103
Onboarding - Non-Summer School Students: 

 Students who are not taking summer school must register for an Onboarding session at the button below. Onboarding for non-summer school students is offered one day: 

  • Thursday, August 1st - 9:00 am
  • Thursday, August 1st - 11:00 am

 


How to prepare for Onboarding: 

In order to prepare for the Onboarding process, please make sure your child has their own iTunes account set up and they know the username and password for this account. You will also want to make sure that any data from the apps they may have installed on their iPad has been backed up. For step-by-step instructions on how to backup app data, click here. Ensuring they have a good backup of their data will allow them to restore this data after their iPad has been wiped. You will be receiving an email from Mr. Rolly Landeros during the month of May, which will detail how to set-up your child's Google account for Email, Drive, Schoology, and Youtube access.

*Please make sure your child brings their iPad fully charged to Onboarding.*
