Scholarship Granting Organization
Maximize Your Impact: New Tax Benefits for SGO Donations to Cathedral
New tax rules make your donation go even further when giving to Cathedral through a Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO)!
Our Scholarship Granting Organization allows donors to support Cathedral by directly funding scholarships for students in greatest need.
Tax Benefits of SGO Donations
A School Scholarship Tax Credit is available to individuals and corporations who donate to SGOs to support Cathedral students. Any donation made to an SGO and designated for Cathedral goes directly toward tuition costs for qualifying incoming or current students. By designating your gift specifically for Cathedral High School, a Cathedral student will have the opportunity to receive a faith-based education.
Key Tax Advantages:
-
Donations to SGOs are eligible for a 50% state tax credit, reducing state income tax liability for the current year.
-
Contributions are also eligible for a federal tax deduction, further maximizing the financial benefit.
