Cathedral Athletics is using an on-line system for parents & students to electronically complete, sign and submit documents required to participate in athletics at Cathedral. This system is called Final Forms.
To begin, parents must create an account with Final Forms. Click on the link below to find instructions on how to register, as well as how to complete all required forms.
Parents and students of all grade levels must register and complete all forms before being allowed to participate in any pre-season conditioning, workout, or practice.
Parents of incoming freshmen and out of state transfer students will have to print and take the IHSAA PPE physical page to an appointment with a licensed physician, nurse practitioner or physician assistant. This form must be returned directly to Cathedral Athletic Trainer Mike Hunker once it is completed. Current freshmen, sophomores and juniors will not need to get an updated physical this year, but still must have all forms completed/signed/submitted through Final Forms.
Please contact Mike Hunker if you have any questions.

Our program is committed to empowering young women to reach their highest potential both on and off the basketball court. We seek to develop our student-athletes into confident, competitive people who value TEAM over individual success, as well as the importance of all that is gained physically, emotionally, and spiritually through the sport of basketball.

We are excited to begin the 2022-2023 Cathedral Lady Irish Basketball season! This information includes what you’ll need to know about out program and schedule for the summer off-season. The month of June will be full and then when we come back after moratorium, we will do limited workouts. July will be when players can focus on AAU and their fall sports.
Program Communication
Our main method of communication with players during preseason will be through TeamSnap. Players should check the “team chat” feature in TeamSnap, as well as their email regularly. This will be the most up-to-date information. Communication with parents will mostly be via email/TeamSnap. Please check TeamSnap and your email regularly.
**Please be sure to fill out the contact form so that you can be sent an invitation to join TeamSnap.**
• You can personalize your notifications in TeamSnap.
• Players should mark their availability for each event in TeamSnap.
o This allows us to plan for the numbers we will have.
• Coach Finn’s phone number is included above for emergencies.
*Please fill out the attached contact information sheet and you will be added to TeamSnap.*
Attendance
It is important that you make your best effort to attend as many of our summer workouts as you can. Please mark your availability on TeamSnap. If you need to miss, mark it on TeamSnap and please note the reason. We understand there will be conflicts with other sports, vacations, work, etc. It is important to OVER communicate with the coaches. We ask that it be the player’s responsibility to communicate with the coaches in these situations. We have done our best to schedule workouts so that those players taking summer school can attend, as well as accommodate attendance for those in multiple sports.
Final Forms
In order for athletes to take part in our summer season, they must complete all required documents in the Final Forms platform, as well as have an updated physical on file. Athletes will not be allowed to participate without completing these items – no exceptions.

Preseason Workout Sessions
*Open Gym Sessions: These workouts will be basketball specific. During these workouts, we will be focusing on individual, basketball-related skills, team concepts, drills, and scrimmage opportunities. Come prepared to work hard!! **There are a couple “special training sessions” that will be in lieu of our open gyms. These will be sessions where we hire an outside trainer to work with our players. It is important for us to have as many players there as possible on those days.
*Weight Sessions: Coach Johnson will be running our summer weight sessions. These weight sessions are for players who are NOT participating in a fall sport. If you are trying out for a fall sport, you will lift with that sport. (If that sport does not have a lifting time, you can lift with us.) Basketball is a physical sport and building strength is an essential part of competition.
*Summer Leagues and Shootouts: We are excited to be able to participate in summer games and shootouts once again! We will have different groups attending and will do our best to give you advanced notice of what games and/or shootouts you’ll be asked to participate in. We need to see our players in game-like situations together to get the best feel for where the best fit is for our players. Please keep in mind that these groups do not necessarily indicate what team you will be on in October.
Expectations
All summer activities are voluntary, but keep in mind that being present will increase your individual improvement and our improvement as a team overall. PLEASE stay in communication with the coaching staff if you have to miss workouts.
• Be here.
• Be on time. (You are dressed & ready to warm up at start time)
• Be prepared. (necessary shoes and gear)
• Show up ready to work hard.
• Show up with a good attitude.
• Be a good teammate.
• Be coachable.
• Do not make excuses.
**A note about multi-sport athletes…..The Cathedral head coaches work together as much as we can to make it possible for athletes to play multiple sports. It is VERY important that you communicate with ALL of your coaches regarding conflicts, etc. For those athletes playing a fall sport, we ask that you participate with both sports in June and then in July you can focus more on your fall sport.
Summer Fees
We are excited to be able to participate in games, leagues and shootouts again this summer! This will be a great opportunity for our players to in play game situations with each other and allow for us to build our on-court chemistry. We love giving our players the opportunity to play games and be trained by some of the best names in basketball. These experiences are costly and we do pay for them up front as a program. We ask for each player to pay a small summer fee to cover these costs. This year’s fee will be $65. This is a flat fee across the board for everyone. The payment link is below:
Our summer grade school camps will be held June 27th-30th. We ask our players (current and incoming) to take part in working our camp. The grade school girls love interacting with our players and they make the camp a special experience. We host 2 sessions each day and ask that all players commit to working the camp if at all possible. (We know it might be difficult for some with the summer school schedule.). We will create a Sign-Up Genius so that we have an idea of who will be able to work each session.
**We will plan to have open scrimmages each day during the lunch break from 11:30-12:30. Players should bring basketball gear, water, and snacks. We may also provide a light lunch for anyone working a full day of camp.
Fall Workouts
We will begin our pre-season (fall) workouts after Labor Day. As of right now, we are allowed to hold two, 2-hour basketball workouts each week, as well as separate conditioning and weights sessions. (There is talk that this rule might change. I will keep everyone informed of changes and it will be reflected in our preseason schedule.) If you are not playing a fall sport, it is expected that you be in attendance for all of these sessions.
Tryout Expectations and Evaluations
There are several factors that will be considered when we form our basketball teams in October. These include, but are not limited to:
• Character & Honesty
• Leadership skills & qualities
• Basketball skills and knowledge of the game
• Overall athletic ability with regard to the sport
• Potential to improve
• Commitment to our program, our team, and your teammates & coaches
• Attendance
• Work ethic
• Are you coachable?
• Academic eligibility
• Positive representation of yourself, the Lady Irish Basketball program, and Cathedral High School • Mental toughness
• Ability to process and execute the basketball concepts we are teaching in the program • The program needs at each position
