To the Class of 2024:

We are thrilled to welcome you to the Hill for your first day of school! Between now and then, we will be regularly updating our procedures for safely returning to school and will have regular updates for all parents and students. Please continue to check our website and Principal Barthel's weekly newsletter, Cathedral Connection, for more information.

Freshman Orientation Time Updates

The goal of "Lughnasa," our freshman orientation day, is to introduce the new class to the important and exciting traditions that make up the Irish experience. In consultation with our Safety Task Force, the Lughnasa team has made the following adjustments to the schedule for Saturday, August 8.

Student drop-off and sign-in 
Student drop-off at the roundabout, top of the Hill
3:30-4 p.m. 

Student Send-off and Closing Ceremony 
Parents attend, football field 
9:30 p.m.


NEW - ACTION Required: Please click here to register for Lughnasa by Wednesday, August 5!

  • Note For Students: Most student events will take place outdoors, and students will stay with their assigned Peer Mentor groups (pods of approximately 12 students). Throughout the evening, including any time when students are gathered indoors (i.e. in the Welch Activity Center), proper social distancing will be enforced. A boxed dinner will be served.

  • Note For Parents: Please join us on the Hill at 9:30 p.m. for the closing ceremony at the end of orientation on Saturday, August 8!


 New Student Walkthrough: Wednesday, August 12, 7:50-10 a.m.

All new students are required to participate in the New Student Walkthrough on Wednesday, August 12 from 7:50-10 a.m. Each student will walk through their individual schedule to get acquainted with their teachers and class locations. 

  • Parents will go through drop off and pick up procedures 
  • New students will walk to all classes in order of their schedule
  • New students will meet their teachers
