Summer Practice and the Cathedral Football Welcome Tailgate: Monday June 3.  Practice is 3:30-6:30.  The Tailgate starts at 5:00.

Open Field Trainings will take place on the following dates from 6-8am on the Student Activities Field at Cathedral High School.

The Youth Camp for 4th-incoming 9th graders will be held June 16, 17, 18 &19 at Lawrence Park from 4-6:30 pm

*9th graders will have an opportunity to run through the "tests" that are used at tryouts in August.

Team Camp will be held July 14-17 at Lawrence Park from 10am-12Noon (For incoming 9th-12 graders)

Incoming Freshmen Call-Out Meeting: Meet the coaches and our returning senior players on this night.  This meeting is for incoming freshmen players as well as their parents/guardians and it will take place at 7pm on Sunday, April 13th, in the dining hall at Cathedral.  The doors near the spirit store will be unlocked for you to enter school.  The summer schedule will be distributed and explained in detail at this meeting. Coach Q will stay around to answer any questions you have about the summer and/or our program.

Kick-off to summer workouts for freshmen:  The start of summer for our incoming freshmen begins with participation in our Elite Camp: May 27, 28, 29. Players may register for this camp now on our Camp Cathedral website (https://www.gocathedral.com/on-campus/campcathedral?post_category_id=45).  The cost for this camp is $20 and that is used to cover the cost of the t-shirt which will be worn on competition days throughout the summer. The first day of camp will introduce our program expectations and team culture, day two will introduce team defense, and day three will cover team concepts for offense.  Every player interested in trying out for volleyball at Cathedral should register for only one of the Elite Camp sessions.  If a player needs to miss any one of the 3 nights in session A, there will be make-up dates offered in June's session B (June 9th - program culture make-up date, June 16th - defensive concepts make-up date, June 23rd - offensive concepts make-up date) and you do NOT need to pay a second time for those make-up dates. 

Summer workouts:  The official summer schedule will begin the week of June 2nd.  This schedule will be explained in detail at the call-out meeting.  While workouts cannot be made mandatory, it is highly encouraged to be as consistent as possible with attendance. The workouts are meant to physically and mentally prepare an individual for tryouts and for the rigor of the season to follow.   Our students trying out for volleyball (that are also in summer school) will get their workouts in at 6:00am before summer school classes. The week that surrounds July 4th will always be an off week because it is an IHSAA mandated moratorium week.  Cathedral then chooses to take a second moratorium week the very last week before school starts so we will not have workouts during that time as well.  Tryouts will be on August 4th and 5th.

The Cathedral Boys Basketball Coaches will be having a callout meeting for all interested parents and players of incoming Freshmen on May 7th from 6:30-8pm in the Cathedral Dining Hall. We will be discussing the expectations of our program, summer schedule, and giving an introduction to our program.

Incoming Freshmen/New Families Call-Out Meeting: All incoming freshmen and/or new players and their families are invited to an informational callout meeting on Monday, May 5th at 6:00 pm.  This meeting will be held in the Cathedral Dining Hall (enter door #6 at courtyard patio) and will last about 1 hour. 

This will be a short overview and introduction to our program and the GBB summer schedule will be distributed. The coaching staff and some returning players will be in attendance.

Our summer workout program begins the week of June 2nd.

After a spring season and club season, we usually take the summer off from being in the gym. There will be a callout meeting in late August to discuss fall gym time and conditioning.

Incoming 9th graders are welcome to be camp counselors at our camps the week of June 2.
