Tuition Assistance

Families apply for tuition assistance through a program called Clarity (Learn more about Clarity). If you need support during the process of completing your application, there is in-app support available through the “Help” button in the bottom left of the screen, as well as email and phone support at support@clarityapp.com or 206-210-3752, in both English and Spanish. The application itself is also fully translated into Spanish. Please note, there is a $60 fee from Clarity for the financial aid assessment.

• Optional Early Deadline (October 13) for Freshman Early Admission Applicants—Families applying via the Early Admission process who wish to receive an estimated financial aid award at the time of Early Admission acceptance must apply for tuition assistance by October 13. Families not meeting this deadline but who meet the later deadline of December 15 will receive their tuition assistance award by March, at the same time as returning families.
• Continuous Enrollment Deadline (December 15) for New and Re-Enrolling Student Applications - Families applying for regular admission must apply for tuition assistance by December 15. 

In the case of parents who are separated or divorced, Cathedral requires that both households complete the application process outlined above. Please note that a household includes parents, guardians, and/or stepparents as applicable.

Families applying for tuition assistance must also submit to Clarity a copy of all supporting tax documentation such as the following:

• Copies of the most recent Federal tax forms including all supporting tax schedules
• Copies of the most recent W-2 forms for each parent/guardian in the household
• Copies of supporting documentation for Social Security income, welfare, child support, food stamps, workers' compensation, and/or TANF, if applicable

Families submit this documentation directly to Clarity and not to Cathedral High School. All necessary documents must be turned in by October 31 to be considered for the early deadline.

Please note that NEW families applying for tuition assistance for 2024-2025 will receive a “preliminary” awards letter by submitting tax documentation for 2022; however, we will need your 2023 tax documentation to finalize your tuition assistance. returning families and new families applying AFTER December 15, must submit your 2023 tax documentation.

Students applying for freshman admission and who apply for tuition assistance by the deadlines shared above will receive an estimated financial aid award at the time the admission decision is mailed to the family. Changes in circumstances, inaccurate income/asset information, and/or budgetary constraints could result in a final award that varies from this estimated award, but this process will allow families to have additional financial information about Cathedral at the time of making an enrollment decision.

Families apply for tuition assistance through Clarity (Create a Clarity Account). 

• Financial Aid Application process begins January 15 and closes on  April 15. You must submit your 2024 tax documents to apply.

Families applying for tuition assistance must submit their application using the link: app.clarityapp.com/sign-up. Clarity will download all pertinent 2023 documents directly from the IRS.  Families are, also, able to upload any additional documents to their application.  Important documents include (but are not limited to):

• Copies of the most recent Federal tax forms including all supporting tax schedules
• Copies of the most recent W-2 forms for each parent/guardian in the household
• Copies of supporting documentation for Social Security income, welfare, child support, food stamps, workers' compensation, and/or TANF, if applicable

Please note that families applying for tuition assistance for 2026/27 will submit tax documentation for 2024.

Returning families who apply for financial aid and provide their 2024 tax documentation by the April 15 deadline will receive a financial award by May 6. Families not meeting this deadline will receive awards as funds are available. Changes in circumstances, inaccurate income/asset information, and/or budgetary constraints could result in a final award different from the original award amount.
