Summer School

The cost for summer school is $700 per class.

• Attendance, Participation & Communication
  • Students are expected to attend each class. Attendance will be based on the student's presence and active engagement during the online class. If an emergency arises and your student must be absent from class, please call the attendance line and report the absence at 317-968-7496, then option 1.
  • Students will submit work in a timely manner.  Online classwork will be submitted by the end of the period.  Homework will be submitted by the start of the following day’s class. (8 am or 12 pm). 
  • Students will correspond with teachers in an appropriate manner. Teachers will teach the students proper communication methods on the first day of class to establish communication norms.
• Online Dress Code
  • Students are expected to be appropriately dressed with Christian modesty.

Drop off and pickup will be in the senior lot (the lot next to the Welch Activity Center).  Please do not drop off or pick up on the circle.  Below is a diagram of where you should drop off and pick up.  Students will enter through door 3B.  3B is the entrance to the Cathedral spirit shop.  

We cannot have students loitering on campus for extended periods of time unsupervised.  Students should be picked up at the conclusion of their class unless they are transitioning directly to an extracurricular activity on campus.  Students that take a class during the morning session cannot stay on campus unless the extracurricular activity they are staying for is immediately after the morning session.  

Freshman and new students will receive their lunch cards at the new student and freshman orientation.  

Students staying on campus between the morning and afternoon sessions are permitted to either bring a packed lunch or purchase one from the cafeteria. The cafeteria and kitchen will be open and have limited options available each day for lunch between the morning and afternoon class sessions.

The cafeteria or outdoor dining areas are the only areas where food is allowed during summer school. Students are responsible for keeping the tables they use clean and tidy. This includes throwing away trash and wiping tables if necessary. Students must vacate the cafeteria before the beginning of the afternoon session at 12:00 pm.

All summer school students are to follow the "school year" dress code.  All dress code items can be purchased in the Cathedral bookstore.  This includes uniform shirts, hoodies and pants.  For questions regarding uniforms, please call the Cathedral Spirit Shop at 317-968-7388 (open limited hours in the summer).

• All students must wear the Cathedral long or short-sleeved logo shirts available only in the Cathedral Bookstore.
• Only a Cathedral uniform sweatshirt or sweater may be worn over the logo shirt.
• Cathedral's uniform pants are khaki pants that are purchased at Cathedral. Pants should be worn properly around the waist. Pants that are altered or cut in any way will not be permitted. 
• Hats, sunglasses, head wraps, dew-rags, beads and hair picks are not permitted.
• As during the regular school year, Fridays will be "activity days" and Cathedral spirit t-shirts or sweatshirts may be worn with uniform pants.
• PE students may wear any shorts with a Cathedral spirit shirt or a solid colored t-shirt. Socks and tennis shoes are required. Also, all belongings are locked up safely in a room inside the cafeteria during class. Students needing to change for Afternoon PE can do so in the locker rooms or in restrooms between the AM and PM sessions. 

Students do not need to purchase any books; however, they will need their iPad for all classes. Students will need a folder, notebook, pens, and pencils for all classes. Any other material need is at the teacher’s discretion.

While we understand students will want/need to have phones to be able to contact parents at the conclusion of classes, phones are not allowed to be out/used during class time unless allowed by their teacher.  (8:00-11:30 & 12:00-3:30). Phones are permitted to be out and used in the cafeteria at the conclusion of classes. If a student does choose to bring a phone or other valuables to campus, they are responsible for them. PE classes will have a room available that is locked during class for bags. 

Summer school students are expected to follow all Cathedral rules and expectations that we adhere to during the regular school year.  Students who fail to follow the Cathedral Student Code of Conduct are subject to disciplinary action by teachers and administrators. This can include the student being asked to not return in the fall if the administration does not feel the student meets the expectations of a Cathedral student.
