  • Students must be 15 on or before the first day of class. Students are required to take the BMV written test and present the required CDE Form at the BMV before a learner’s permit is issued.
  • Students may obtain a license as early as 16 years 90 days with driver education. A permit must be held for 180 days before a driver license may be obtained. Please Visit for further information. 
  • Cathedral students have first preference. If there are still spots available after Cathedral students have registered, non-Cathedral students will be registered on a first-come, first-served basis.


Cathedral High School has partnered with AAA for one of the best and comprehensive training available. Access codes will be distributed on March 9, 2020. Certificate for Driver's Education (CDE Form) accompany this release date. The CDE Form is required by the BMV before Learner Permits are issued.

Driver’s Education Program includes 30 hours of classroom instruction and activity, relating to rules and regulations of operating a motor vehicle, and 6 hours of actual driving (behind the wheel). The car(s) used has dual controls consisting of a brake on the right hand side for the Instructor’s use.


For student who have already completed a BMV approved online course and only requires the On-Road Driving requirement. If you meet this requirement the cost of the On-Road Driving Only is $340.
