Counseling
Cathedral’s counseling office provides a comprehensive counseling program that integrates Holy Cross values and supports students in achieving their academic, social/emotional, and personal goals.
Cathedral’s counselors offer guidance in a nurturing environment for all students in our diverse population. From freshman year through graduation, students are paired with the same counselor, ensuring a consistent and supportive relationship that nurtures their growth and prepares them for lives of leadership, faith, and service.
Our experienced counseling team collaborates closely with students to navigate academic planning, course selection, and the college admissions process. The College and Career Center, led by Director Kathy Pivonka, provides resources and support for college applications, campus visits, and career exploration. Cathedral counselors equip students and families with the necessary tools and decision-making skills to select the best post-secondary path.
In addition to academic and college counseling, we offer specialized support through our Learning Support Program, which serves approximately 20% of our student body. This program ensures that students with diverse learning needs receive tailored assistance to thrive academically and personally. Our dedicated staff, including social workers and licensed mental health counselors, provides a nurturing environment where all students can develop a healthy sense of self and build meaningful relationships.
At Cathedral High School, we are committed to educating both the hearts and minds of our students, guiding them toward success during their high school years and beyond.
