Rick Streiff Inducted Into Butler Athletics Hall of Fame

 

Congratulations to athletic director Rick Streiff who will be inducted into the Butler Athletics Hall of Fame. Streiff served Cathedral as head football coach and social studies teacher before becoming the athletic director in July 2018. Rick Streiff (Football, 1980-83)

Streiff has compiled a 211-90 career record as a high school coach at Brebeuf Prep School, North Central High School and Cathedral High School. He has guided teams to a state record nine Indiana state championships (1992, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014).

During his playing days at Butler, Streiff was a three-year starter and four-year varsity letterwinner at wide receiver. He finished his career with 58 receptions for 877 yards and 13 touchdowns. Streiff ranked second on the team in receiving yards in 1983, helping BU to a 9-0-1 regular season record which resulted in a Heartland Collegiate Conference Championship and Butler's first berth into the NCAA Division II playoffs. Streiff was named Second Team All-Heartland Collegiate Conference in 1983 after scoring eight touchdowns. His football career would continue on the sidelines as one of the most successful high school football coaches in the state of Indiana.
