Briar Keehn ‘25 on being named a National Merit Scholarship winner! National Merit $2,500 Scholarship winners are the Finalists in each state judged to have the strongest combination of accomplishments, skills, and potential for success in rigorous college studies. Only 2,500 Merit Scholar designees were chosen from a talented pool of more than 15,000 outstanding finalists in the country.
A committee of college admission officers and high school counselors chose the scholarship recipients based on academic records, including difficulty level of subjects and grades earned, PSAT scores, contributions and leadership in school and community activities, an essay, and a recommendation from a high school administrator.
Briar is graduating Summa Cum Laude and was recently named an Indiana Academic All-Star. Briar came to Cathedral from St. Jude Catholic School and will attend Depauw University to major in Global Health and minor in Spanish.
