Principal's Message
Dear Cathedral Parents and Guardians,
By this time next week, we will have completed our first day of school for the 2022/23 school year! I hope all of you are as excited as I am to start the school year.
Cathedral's offices will be closed on Monday, August 8. All educators, including classroom teachers and administrators, are participating in a retreat at our beautiful Brunette Park facility. Please keep us in your prayers as we gather to pray and discuss final preparations for the new school year.
Please be sure you read this newsletter every week. Cathedral High School is a busy campus, and you don't want to miss any vital information. Also, as one of our dear educators recently shared, “the best advice for parents is to be present and engaged, as your schedule allows, with what's happening on the Hill. The best experiences come when parents/guardians experience the Cathedral journey alongside their students.”
Please click here for the 2022/23 Student Handbook. You can also find this document on the Parent Portal of Cathedral's website. We hope this document will help you and your family as you familiarize yourself with life on the Hill.
As a reminder, school starts at 8:40 a.m. this year. Dismissal is at 3:15. We are on a four-day cycle. Here is the daily fall schedule.
Please make sure your student is dressed in the proper uniform: Cathedral uniform shirt/sweatshirt, khaki pants, and lanyard/ID. Lanyards/IDs are part of our safety protocol and must be worn by all students. We realize some students may forget their lanyards on the first days of school, but we'd love your help in ensuring students have their lanyards and ID each morning. Students who lose their lanyard or ID will be sent to the technology department for a replacement. Lanyards are $3, and IDs are $7. Seniors are the only students allowed to wear college shirts/sweatshirts.
Enjoy this last week of summer vacation, and see you soon on the Hill.
God bless and Go Irish!
Julie Barthel
Principal
