Principal's Message

Dear Cathedral Parents and Guardians,

Congratulations on another fabulous school year at Cathedral High School! I am so proud of our educators, who approach each day with excellence and zeal. Our educators are committed to educating hearts and minds from the first day of school until the last final exam. I am also incredibly proud of our students. It's not easy being a teenager, but our students continue to amaze me. This year, they've captured State band medals, a Show Choir National Championship, a Debate State Championship, and our football program received the coveted Hatchell Cup Award. The National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame named Cathedral as the winner of the Hatchell Cup for being the top football program in the nation for excellence in the classroom, on the field, and in the community. Our students also put on fabulous theatre productions, comedy shows, and talent shows. Our students attended wonderful retreats and presented our first-ever outdoor Stations of the Cross. The Class of 2024 earned a whopping $58.6 million in reported scholarship offers! Our students are scholarly servant leaders who always find a way to answer the call to greatness!

I also want to thank you, our Cathedral parents and guardians, for your love and support. We could only have done what we did on the Hill with your help. Thank you for being a partner in the process!

As you make your summer plans, please consider volunteering at the 10th National Eucharistic Congress, which will be held in Indianapolis this July. The Congress is an invitation to experience profound personal revival so we can be sent out to share Christ's love with the world. Organizers are looking for groups of volunteers to help stuff welcome bags. Your group can be a few people or 20 people! Also, please note that a parent or a Safe Environment-cleared chaperone must accompany volunteers under 18. The volunteer opportunity is Sunday, July 14, from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. at the Indiana Convention Center, Hall J. Please click here to learn more and volunteer today! Click here to learn more about this summer's National Eucharistic Revival.

Please remind your student about the summer reading requirement. In one way or another, each book focuses on Zeal, our Holy Cross Core Value for the 2024/25 school year.  Please take an active role in helping students choose the books that are the best fit for them. Students must have fulfilled the summer reading requirement by August 8, the first day of the 2024/25 school year. Click here for the list and details about the requirements. Thank you!

Ivy Tech is offering free summer courses for high school classes with an opportunity to earn college credit. Please click here to learn more about this exciting opportunity.

Please remember school dismisses tomorrow, Friday, May 24, at 12:20 p.m. Lunch will not be served tomorrow.

I wish all of you a fun, restful, and safe summer. Please remember to pray with your children this summer. The Jesus Calling Devotional and Hallow apps are beautiful resources to use and share with your family.

"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'" - Jeremiah 29:11

God bless, and Go Irish!
