Principal's Message

Dear Cathedral Parents and Guardians,

Happy first week of Advent! I hope you and your family are enjoying a wonderful start to this beautiful season.

Please remember that tomorrow, Friday, December 8, we're hosting our first-ever Christmas on the Hill! This is a required school day for our students, and we are excited to share the joy of Christmas with Kindergarten-third grade students from the Enlace Academy. Cathedral students will spend the day decorating cookies, making Christmas cards for patients at Riley Hospital, creating ornaments, and writing letters to Santa with the students from Enlace. Before our young guests arrive, we will celebrate the Mass of Immaculate Conception at 8:45 a.m. Please make sure your student arrives on time and reports to their CORE classroom so we can begin Mass on time. Students are allowed to wear Christmas on the Hill-inspired tops with their uniform pants. Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors need to bring a sack lunch.  Also, please note that school will be dismissed at 2:30 p.m. on December 8. Again, students are required to attend school tomorrow. If your student is sick, you must use SafeArrival to report the absence by 9 a.m.

Winter Formal is Saturday, December 9, from 7:30 - 10 p.m. at Cathedral. You can find all the details in this newsletter's Current News Section.

We have released the schedule for final exams. You'll find all the details in the Current Parent News section. Please read the schedule carefully. The final exam schedule includes early dismissal days for our students.

Also, on Tuesday, December 5, our Office of Academics sent all parents/guardians information about J-Term 2024. The email included information about your student's J-Term selection and whether a fee is involved. Questions about J-Term can be sent to Megan Schmidt (mschmidt@gocathedral.com) or Mark Matthews (mmatthews@gocathedral.com).

2024 will be here before we know it, but in the meantime, I hope you have time to slow down, spend time with family and friends, and enjoy the beauty of the Advent Season.

Thank you for your prayers and support.

God bless, and Go Irish!

The Cathedral Board of Trustees has approved tuition for the 2024/25 academic year. Balancing affordability considerations while maintaining the highest standards for academic excellence and extra-curricular programming are central to our tuition pricing. This year, inflationary concerns and ensuring that every effort is made to remain competitive in attracting and retaining the highest quality faculty and staff are the key reasons tuition increases are necessary.
