Guidance Department Structure 2016-2017

Cathedral 360 is an approach that sets Cathedral apart from other schools with each student’s Personalized Education Experience.

Cathedral 360 integrates all the unique aspects of student life at the school—individualized academic plans, co-curricular choices, Christian service, spiritual development, leadership training, enhanced counseling, developmental assets, and Lifelong Connections.

Most of all, Cathedral 360 is about relationships. That’s why, starting in 2016-2017, each student will now have three individuals who will help guide him or her throughout each year of his or her high school career. These three individuals, a school counselor, a college counselor, and an advisor, will have different but complementary responsibilities and work as a team, provide more opportunities for guidance in issues both large and small, have greater depth of knowledge about each individual student, and create more connections with caring adults at school.

In addition, this structure will allow us to make best use of our counselors’ individual expertise and also provide greater continuity throughout a student’s entire high school career.
